Aggies for Palestine, Anti-Semitic rhetoric on Texas A&M Campus?

This letter came to me today from a fellow GOPisForMe member and student at Texas A&M University.  It spells out the intentions and agenda of the group, Aggies for Palestine, and provides documented evidence of their anti-Semitic rhetoric.  Please help by passing this information along to anyone who can help end this sort of tactic on our State supported college campuses.

“Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I hope this e-mail finds all of you doing well. I am writing to you today to discuss activities on Texas A&M campus both which are disturbing and alarming. Moreover, I am writing to ask for your help in the most professional manner possible. The activity to which I am specifically referring to is the formation of the Aggies for Palestine on Campus. When I first heard about this group over the 2011-2012 Christmas break, I was initially curious as I believed this group would merely advocate a peaceful and responsible two state solution to the conflicts surrounding the State of Israel. However, the more research I conducted concerning this organization, the more disturbed I became. Attached in the documents you will find evidence of the disturbing nature of the recently formed student group, Aggies for Palestine.

In the attachment Constitution, you will find the group’s stated purpose, vision, and rules of procedure. You will notice I have highlighted the vision of this group as this is the area I would like to pay particular attention to. The vision is contained in both the attachment Constitution as well as the attachment Purpose. The multi-colored accusations against Israel are the issues specifically to which I would like to bring to your attention. Most alarming are the accusations that Israel is an apartheid state, the notation that Palestinians are refugees, and the advocating for a right of return.

As you may well know, the accusation that Israel is an apartheid state comes from the wall which is currently being built along the long-established borders between the West Bank and the State of Israel. The purpose of this wall is to protect the State of Israel and to prevent future suicide bombings in civilian areas. Such proof of this issue is that since the first contiguous segment was constructed in 2006, terrorist attacks which numbered at 73, killing a total of 293 and injuring over 1,900 others has been reduced to 12 attacks, killing only 64 and wounding 445. (Information obtained from The Anti-Terrorist Fence by Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

The next item which lambasts the state of Israel is the notion that Palestinians are refugees. This accusation arises from the belief that upon the declaration of Israel as a sovereign nation on 14 May 1948, the State of Israel unreasonably and forcibly drove the non-Jewish inhabitants out of the newly formed State. I assure you nothing could be further from the truth. We know, as reflected in the official Israeli position the:

…the Arabs in Palestine were asked to stay and live as citizens in the Jewish state. Instead, they chose to leave, either because they were unwilling to live with the Jews, or because they expected an Arab military victory which would annihilate the Zionists. They thought they could leave temporarily and return at their leisure. Later, an additional claim was put forth, namely that the Palestinians were ordered to leave [by their imams], with radio broadcasts instructing them to quit their homes.

Furthermore, any claim which argues that Palestinian villages were forced to excavate by Israeli soldiers is either disingenuous or dishonest in its entirety. For starters, Israeli soldiers did forcibly remove people from Palestinian villages. But these evacuation orders were given in May 1948, weeks after the initial hostilities between Arab nations and Israel had begun. Secondly, as discovered by Benny Morris, in The Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Problem Revisited, the Arab High Committee on March 8, 1948 was ordered by the Arab National Committee to “forcibly evacuate women, children, and the elderly to a faraway area from the dangers. Any opposition to this order is an obstacle to the holy war and will hamper the operations of the fighters in these districts”. This unwillingness to live under Jewish authority was noted in its contribution to the 1948 Palestinian exodus by George Crews McGhee in On the frontline in the Cold War: an ambassador reports (1997) as well as known historian Joseph Schechtman and Professor at King’s College London, Efraim Karsh.

The last item from the Constitutuion and Purpose which raises immediate concern is the advocating for the right of return. The right of return is the internationally recognized right of people to return to their country of origin. While on the onset, this idea has many merits, in the application to the State of Israel, the results are catastrophic. If the State of Israel were forced to grant the demands contained in the Palestinian right of return, which includes the right to return to an exact property location, it would, in so doing, forcibly evict Jews from their homes so that other people can then inhabit them.

Having finished discussing the immediate issues contained in the Constitution, I would also ask that you regard the document Facebook Photos. In this document you will find several photos taken from the Aggies for Palestine’s Facebook page. The two photos I would like to point your attention to are the two center photos. You will notice in both of these photos the Keffiyeh is present. As has been documented by Caroline Glick from the Jerusalem Post, Rhonda Koenig from the Independent in Britain, Kim Kibum from the New York Times, and authors Frank B. Tipton and Cas Muddle, this garment is a symbol of solidarity with Palestine. In particular, it is a symbol of solidarity with the Fatah, a Palestinian political party who calls for the full liberation of Palestine and all Palestinian lands with Jerusalem as its capital. Furthermore, in 2007, Fatah, as the majority party in the Palestinian National Authority, agreed to work in coordination with Hamas who won elections in the Gaza Strip in 2005. Clarification on the meaning of “all Palestinian lands” can be found on the Keffiyeh (in the center-right photo, look at the bottom left. Specifically the end of the Keffiyeh.) Further clarification can be found in the top center photo as well as the bottom center photo, both which have the entire state of Israel in the colors of red, green, and black (the colors associated with Palestinian nationalism).

There are many issues and subjects which I did not discuss due to the nature and purpose of this e-mail. While I believe the issues of the history surrounding the State of Israel and the emerging anti-Semitic dialogue must be discussed in the future, the purpose of this e-mail is to ask for your most professional assistance in addressing the issue of anti-Semitic rhetoric on Texas A&M campus. I do not believe this rhetoric should be tolerated and I am shocked that such anti-Semitic rhetoric would be sponsored by Texas A&M University officials. While I fully support academia being the market place of ideas, the principles of hate and purposeful manipulation of history have no legitimate place in an intellectual dialogue as they threaten the very fabric on which the market place is built.

In order to address this issue, I have been privileged to work with the Texas Aggie Conservatives and the College Republicans who have agreed to help being Dr. David Horowitz to speak on A&M campus. He is tentatively scheduled to speak on 16 April 2012. The charge to have him speak is $7,000. Texas Aggie Conservatives are currently in the process of working to establish a secure account for the purpose of bringing in Dr. Horowitz to speak. As soon as I find the number to which any donations can be wired, I will forward this information on to you. If you would like to help us achieve our goal, we would be most grateful. In order to receive the account information, please e-mail me at johnson2380@gmail.com. For any other ways you would like to help, please feel free to e-mail me as well. Please feel free to forward to all those who would be interested. This will require a team effort!!! I look forward to working with all of you!”

Obama Slaps Catholics in the Face

It doesn’t matter how much damage control the Obama Administration does to undo what they did last week, nothing will change the fact they forcefully imposed their will on the Catholic Church and others, by mandating the church violate its core principles by providing birth control pills and contraceptives to all employees of religious based hospitals across the country.

It’s another phase of Obama Care, the “health care” program he promised everyone when he ran for President. Well, what do you think of it now? If you’re one of the many Hispanics who voted for Barak Obama, how does it feel knowing you put a man in office who is forcing many churches to throw away everything they know?

It may have sounded good in theory, and what could be wrong with everyone getting “free” health care?  Obama said we would no longer have people unable to get the care they need if Obama Care passed.  And it did pass…despite the efforts of the Republican Party to block it.

It’s the oldest trick in the book, called “bait and switch.” The first step is to bait the “hook” and convince the people this medical care takeover is really something they want.   They make it seem irresistible, showing pictures of the elderly and children getting the care they deserve.  All for free.  But is it free?  Nothing’s free in life… somewhere, there’s a “catch.”

And this is the “switch.”  Instead of getting what you thought you’d be getting, you get something different.  Finally, you get a chance to understand exactly what it means to be “mandated” to do something.  You get to see what it means to not have a choice…like the people in Socialist countries.

To the millions of Hispanics who voted for Obama because you thought he would fix immigration, he hasn’t. To the millions of Hispanics who voted for Obama because you thought he would create jobs…he hasn’t done that either.

And now, this? Who does he think he is? What makes him think he knows what’s best for you?

You may not be one of those who thinks the President is trying to destroy this nation from within, but ask yourself, what is the one thing that must be done in order to destroy America? Great leaders of foreign nations have always known that our nation’s greatest asset is the faith its people have in God. The same God that guided the hands of our forefathers still watches over us today.

Because of our faith, we are feared as a people. Because we rally when the Liberals attack Christmas, and we pull together in tragic times, our enemies cannot break us. But, if they can take us apart from within, they can do it while we attend our kid’s soccer games and go to work each day…oblivious to the danger at hand.

Our enemies know they must destroy our faith and will to fight. They must take away our faith in God and replace it with faith in the government. That’s where we’re all headed. People didn’t believe Obama Care would actually take place, but parts of it are already unfolding.

Rationing, End of Life counseling and now mandating that our churches abide by the government’s rules for providing contraception to its employees? It’s like a slap in the face to the Catholic Church. It is like kicking the Pope and pushing Cardinals around. Why? Because Obama doesn’t respect the church. He doesn’t understand people of faith. He doesn’t even place his hand over his heart when he says the Pledge of Allegiance.

If you voted for Barak Obama, it’s OK…you can’t change the past. But you can have an effect on the future. When November 2012 comes around, you can send him a message. Tell him that he can take his mandate and tear it up. We don’t need him telling us what to do.

In the past, the Catholic Church has always been neutral in the political arena, but today, it’s under attack. Recently, I read a letter from the Bishop of the Austin Diocese. It was a letter of distress, calling on all Catholics to pray for the Lord’s intervention and urged people to get involved politically to end this nightmare. Will you answer the call and ensure the Obama Administration’s agenda is stopped? Or will you just let someone else deal with it?

The “gig’s” up. Obama’s gotta go!

Ralph Patterson, Candidate for McLennan County Republican Chairman

There’s a lot of pride involved in this race.  The Incumbent, Joe B. Hinton, feels he deserves to stay, that he has done his job by increasing the number of Republican officials in the county, and for anyone to challenge him is a slap in the face.

But to those on the outside, the Party has fallen short in many critical areas and has failed to lead in crucial times.  From the lack of support in the Brian Birdwell race (local Party actually supported Kip Averitt, who was not running for re-election), to the failure to reach out and fill nearly half of the precincts in the county, there is a strong resentment building.  People are getting frustrated.   They want to help, but when they show up at Party headquarters, they’re told, “everything is under control,” and they do not need any extra help at this time.

Enter Ralph Patterson, a software development entrepreneur, business owner and solid Republican. He thinks there’s a better way to run the Party, and he’s dedicating his time and energy to making the McLennan County Republican Party more effective and efficient.

This video was filmed at the McLennan County Republican Women’s Club meeting, where the County Chairman, Joe B. Hinton, was invited and again failed to attend.  It would have been nice to understand what the Chairman had in mind as a game plan, but we can only assume he isn’t interested enough in the issues, or he doesn’t care what we think of him.  Either way, his non-appearance boosted the energy and apparent support for the challenger Ralph Patterson.

We hope you enjoy and share this video with all Republicans in McLennan County.

Meeting in Dallas!

The perception minorities have of the Republican Party is something we must overcome if we are to ever connect with the people.  For decades, Democrats have positioned us as the rich White guys who don’t care about the average person.  But we’re not all White…and we’re not all rich.  They think we’re money hungry lawyers, bankers and professionals who don’t know what it’s like to struggle.  Wrong again.  They’ve been told that to vote for a Republican is to vote against your people.

Tonight I’ll be speaking with the Dallas County Republican Party Outreach Committee, a meeting arranged shortly after a one-on-one visit with Dallas GOP Chairman, Wade Emmert.  We met at a Starbucks in Cedar Hill and visited for a few hours about the future of the Dallas County Republican Party.

I interviewed him, then he interviewed me, both learning each other’s motives and ideas for growing the Party.  In the end, we both concluded that collaboration and unification could have a tremendous impact not only in the community, but the Party would also benefit from the tangible difference it made through outreach efforts.

For decades, Democrats have been on the front lines, “helping” the underprivileged find their way to all the government hand-outs they can muster.  It’s led the community into a trap.  Now, 30 years later, we see generations of welfare families stacked on each other, unable to escape. I look forward to meeting the members of the Outreach Committee, who have chosen to be in the trenches.  We will talk about our education initiative, Stepping Stones, and how we can impact the local community through volunteer efforts of dedicated Dallas County Republicans who see the future and choose to play a role in its development.  They choose to give their free time to help others, and will be on the front lines in the battle to keep Texas Red!

Hispanics and the Redistricting “Hype”

The nation is looking at Texas to see how things shake-up regarding redistricting.  Our Hispanic population surged in the last ten years, and because the law requires equal representation, Hispanic communities and regions are up for grabs.  It reminds me of the game where a person stands in a glass closet and tries to catch money blowing around.  They can grab all the cash they can before their 30 seconds is up.

Is that what we’re all about?  Seizing the opportunity to claim territory in high Hispanic regions?  Democrats are fighting for Hispanics like we were pieces of gold, whose statistics, whether legal or illegal, equates to millions of dollars from the federal government.  Sounds like a field day for Democrats, who are experts at getting “theirs.”  I can only imagine how they’re already spending the money.

Republicans have an issue with redistricting because they know Hispanics traditionally vote with Democrats, and they see it as a loss.  Recently, Attorney General Abbott struck a deal with several “Hispanic Rights” groups, giving them two new districts in heavily Hispanic regions.  Take a look at the groups we’re dealing with -  Texas LULAC, MALDEF, GI Forum, The Mexican American Bar Association of Texas, La Fe Policy Research and Education Center, Hispanics Organized for Political Education (HOPE), the National Organization for Mexican American Rights, Southwest Voter Registration Education Project, the William C. Velasquez Institute, Southwest Workers’ Union, and other plaintiffs collectively known as the “Texas Latino Redistricting Task Force.”   Don’t you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?  In the end, the deal-making wasn’t enough.

Who’s involved in the “Texas Latino Redistricting Task Force?”  A bunch of Special Interest groups jockeying for their piece of the pie?  Why are they fighting so hard?  What’s in it for them?  I can’t believe they are going through all this for no reason.  They’re up to something, and it stinks.

We Republicans want these districts, but if somehow we got them, would we be able to keep them?  It’s time to ask some tough questions.  Have we been doing enough to include the growing Hispanic population in our Party?  Do Hispanics identify with our Party?  Do they vote Republican?  When we break it down in simple terms, it’s easy to see why we do not have any traction with the community.

We, as a Party, have only pandered to Hispanics, calling on them when we need the votes.  Now, we must have more than rhetoric.  We need solutions and leadership to open new doors and embrace conservative Hispanics.  If we do this, then it doesn’t matter how the districts are split.  Either way you cut it, we should have the message that wins, and the platform that resonates.  In time, with hard work and perseverance, we will prevail.  Key word…”work.”  Without it, we’re just going in circles, fooling each other.

Duke Machado on 55 KTSA, San Antonio

This morning at 10:30, I was interviewed by Jack Riccardi, host of the Jack Riccardi Show (Gang of Four) on 55 KTSA.  He has hosted midday, nighttime and special events talk shows for 550 KTSA since July 1999.  Jack’s a native of Boston, magna cum laude graduate of Boston University with a degree in journalism, and worked in music radio in Boston and New England throughout the ’80s. “Talkers” magazine annually lists him as of of “America’s Most Influential Talk Show Hosts”.
We talked about the Administration’s attempt to force the Catholic Church into providing abortion related treatments in hospitals that receive Federal money.  We also discussed the Republican Party and the efforts to reach the Hispanic community.  Riccardi ran across one of my blogs titled, “No Need to Fear Hispanic Republicans.”  It was a great opportunity to expand the reach of our message and connect to thousands of listeners.

McLennan County’s Sheriff Showdown

The Race for McLennan County Sheriff comes down to two candidates. Parnell McNamara, retired U.S. Marshall’s Department and 30 year law enforcement veteran faces off with Randy Plemons, current Deputy Sheriff of McLennan County. Both have experience and unique qualifications for the job, and both have vision for the future of the County. Both men are definitely passionate about law enforcement, and love McLennan County, but only one will advance through the Primary.

The issues we face in McLennan County include an escalated gang/cartel presence along I-35, as well as an increase in drug trafficking, which go hand in hand. In addition, in the next eight years, we will see a surge in Hispanic population, much of which will inevitably come in the form of illegal immigration. With so many undocumented residents, the safety of our families and neighborhoods is at stake.

Which of these candidates will tackle the growing problem head-on? Which one of these candidates has the fortitude to step-up and unapologetically go after the “bad guys?” We hope these videos help to give you insight into their vision and serve as a tool for you to make an educated decision.
