Changing the Language on Immigration

Should we expect every immigrant who moves here to be “loyal” to America? Should we assume every immigrant wants to become an American citizen? Do we submit allegiance to other countries when we go there for work? Do they expect us to convert and disavow all allegiance to America? Of course not.

Because of our drift from English as our country’s official language, we find ourselves struggling to assimilate new immigrants. I sat in disbelief as I watched someone, not a citizen of Texas or the United States, sit there in our Texas Capitol and suggest we are discriminating against her and her fellow illegal college students right after admitting she has lived here for over a decade illegally.
