Using the words of the “left,” children are being denied access to education in Chicago. For teachers to use their students as pawns in a personal battle for personal gain, is unthinkable in that they would intentionally create such chaos not only for the students, but also for the parents.
Most parents with kids in school have jobs, and are trying to figure out how to arrange childcare during this strike, which no one knows how long, will last. The unions, synonymous with the Democrat Party, are exploiting children to their advantage, putting many parents at risk of losing their jobs. Despite the constant rhetoric from the Democrats about how they value education, the reality is, kids in Chicago are held hostage, unable to attend school like normal kids across the country.
In my opinion, this strong-arm tactic, at the expense of the citizens, is exactly why I’m proud to be a Texas, a right-to-work state. In short, Texas will not tolerate what’s happening in Illinois. We don’t want to be at the mercy of anyone, especially when they harm others in an attempt to satisfy their personal agenda.
In Texas, you don’t need a reason to terminate someone. If a business is unable to maintain profit, and the only way they can stay in business is to lay off workers, then that business has the right to do so. On the other hand, if an individual doesn’t like working for a company, and has the opportunity to advance elsewhere, they are not obligated to stay.
It’s capitalism in its purest form, where labor is allowed to fluctuate with the demand, unlike states where unions dictate what businesses can and cannot do. Imagine owning a business in today’s economy, and being forced to comply with labor laws created by Liberal lawyers. It would be a nightmare, like what Chicago is facing right now.
It boils down to benefits and entitlements. When the budget can no longer sustain the monetary demands of the unions, there is only one choice, something must be cut. Chicago Mayor, Rohm Emanuel is even against the strike, stating “This is not the right thing to do to the children. It’s unnecessary. It’s avoidable and it’s wrong.”
It’s ironic that one of the Democrat Party’s leaders and Obama insider has to fight the unions. I guess it’s true, we reap what we sow.
