Ralph Patterson Begins new Chapter in McLennan County Politics

New McLennan County Republican Party Chairman, Ralph Patterson (left) sworn in on courthouse steps.

For me, the swearing in of Ralph Patterson, as our new McLennan County Republican Chairman, was surreal.  The weather was perfect, and the mood was happy, relaxed, and hopeful.  At 6 pm on August 20, 2012, the future of Republican Politics in McLennan County was transferred into the hands of its new leader.  As Senator Brian Birdwell said just before Patterson’s Oath of Office, “the stewardship of the Republican Party of McLennan County  has been given to Ralph,” then looking at Patterson said, “and you’re at the helm…

Patterson ran on the platform of providing an environment that allowed all Republicans to participate in the Party.  Now, the responsibility is on our shoulders.  We elected Patterson to advance the Party, but it is our responsibility to help.

Soon, the Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) initiatives will launch, and we will have to jump in and do our part.  Fortunately, we will have an awesome Party Headquarters to work from, thanks to contributions from Republicans in McLennan and surrounding counties, who understand the value of a strong Mclennan County Republican Party.

Please visit the new Party website (www.McLennanGOP.org), which includes a Volunteer sign-up form, Calendar of events and all the features of a modern website, allowing Auxiliary leaders to access the central calendar, creating one localized calendar for all Party events.

To all who cast their vote for Ralph Patterson…congratulations!  It’s our time to make a difference.
