Recently, at the annual Republican Party of Texas Volunteer of the Year banquet, evidence of true patriotism was on display in Austin.
There are few things that conjure the feeling of unity and American spirit as the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. Unfortunately, many Democrats would like to alter the Pledge by removing any reference to God. They would also like a new version of our National Anthem created that reflects a more international appeal.
But in the Republican Party, there is no question of allegiance. There is no doubt that America is divinely created and protected. It is the Republican’s strong belief in God as the true founder of this Nation that has so many Liberals in an uproar.
As they sue to remove God from schools, government buildings and public places, the Republican Party continues to add Him to the vision of our future.
I was honored to be selected as the Volunteer of the Year for Senate District 22. I was there, with my recorder…as usual, to capture the moment.
It wasn’t until I got home that I realized what I had actually captured. As I listened to the audio, I came to realize the difference between the Republican Party and the Democrat Party. I understood the patriotism and pride that flowed from our Party members and contrasted it with those in the Democrat Party who would cringe at the thought of participating in an event like this.
In the room…Lt. Governor David Dewhurst, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, Texas Comptroller Susan Combs, Senator Brian Birdwell, 31 Volunteers of the Year…and countless state and local Republican representatives, including our very own SREC, Janet Jackson (SD-22).
The audio includes the Pledge of Allegiance to the U.S. Flag, State Flag and the National Anthem, led by SREC Committeewoman, Rebecca Williamson.
Listen to the heartfelt emotion in the room. Listen to the applause and pride. This is why I believe there is hope for this country. This is why I believe Barak Obama’s days are numbered in the White House.
Enjoy and pass this along…
